SERVING our STUDENTS: Service Learning School is a Florida registered private school. We accept the Step up, Gardner and McKay scholarships through the state of Florida. As a leader in the micro school movement, we're committed to keeping our class sizes small. We intentionally pair students with capable and engaging facilitators. We're preparing our students for the current and impending work force by strengthening the reasoning, creative and consultative skills ideal for small group collaborative settings. Individual and small group learning helps us guide each student to their chosen career path. Whether their path leads to a university, entrepreneurship, technical training, internship, world traveler, or small business owner we can connect our students to the community resources necessary to assist with their dreams. We use the classroom and playground settings to intentionally nurture elevated social interaction among all individuals.
SERVING our COMMUNITY: Service Learning Micro School isn't just optimizing the student's learning, but our ongoing service in the community also ensures that the students develop life long patterns of socializing through serving the community. This allows our students to strengthen friendships in meaningful ways. Serving the community is fun, active and prevents social ills such as bullying and prejudice. Keeping the student base intentionally small means we can spend more time in the community, volunteering, researching, brain storming solutions and assisting with local and global endeavors. Our goal is not only to serve our students' academic and social needs but to also contribute to the betterment of society. Our action in the community it what sets us apart from all other schools. Participation in projects that are curriculum-driven will expose families to new learning concepts, and will help develop a stronger sense of civic awareness, social responsibility and academic and emotional capacity.
